2009 Gold Cup

Today I watched the Gold Cup soccer game championship USA vs. Mexico. Not only was I expecting a great game, but I was also thrilled that no matter who won, the cup would stay here, in North America. Let the better of my two favorites Win.
With out a doubt I assumed that the US was going to win and wow was I surprise...Mexico won 5 to 0, they took their 5th Golden Cup home. How can that be? In most Golden Cups as well as in other encounters the US will not even let Mexico touch the ball (yes the US is good, for those of you that don't know it). It was very unexpected to see Mexico score all 5 goals in the second half. What happened to the US? Why would they not even score one goal?? To be honest I was disappointed. I would have liked for them to have more control over the game.
Either way, I love Mexico he my culture, the USA she is my country...what can I say I owe them both who I am.
Please feel free to look at this pic all you want *wink wink* (Vela)

Persuasive Speech

Today I gave a Persuasive Speech for my Career Communications class about Lupus. Maybe sometime I will post my outline here. I was a little disappointed to noticed that I had received a score of 88 from 100. To my surprise one of the comments from my professor was that, the noise of my heels distracted the audience away from me, the speaker. I hate it, but I must agree Yes Stiletto do make some clacking sound.
Tonight here I am wondering if that is a valid reason to deduct point?
Thinking more about it....I do not think that given the opportunity I would have changed my shoes, perhaps I would have walked slower or would have been more careful in order to avoid noise. Reality is that, I'm not one of those girls that will be caught wearing clear plastic wedges. I love stilettos and always will. Pumps are classy, make your legs look great, and they give you that extra boost of empowerment. Stilettos are me, my personality, some will say that it is the corporate in me and they are right. In the corporate world why would you not wear stilettos, when giving a presentation?? I know I would, sneakers are not even an option.
Stilettos all the way!!!!

RADIOACTIVE WOMAN

Lately I get up every morning and tell myself that "Today Is a New Day"! Along with that, I also tell myself that "Today Will Be Better Then Yesterday". The question is...Is today really a new day? Is it any better? Or is it always a continuation of yesterday? Let's just say that I have been having some of the worst days the last couple of weeks. Well I had to take some crazy medication a few weeks go. The next week my boyfriend broke up with me. He's moved on, and today after my two hours of sleep last night, as I was cleaning my room...the mail arrived. Here I was with a medical bill for over $81,000. To my surprise I called and I was told that, that's what I owe for medication and doctors visits. Well I'm going to fight it. I was told that it would cost about $300 by the doctor himself. What is Kaiser thinking? So do days really get better? If so, after how long? It's been a month for me. Share your day.

Sleep Deprived

Good morning early birds! Let start off with a question. Why is sleep so important?? Well we all know that it's vital and a necessity, so why is it that so many of us can't sleep? It's past 5:30 am and I have heard my neighbors leave for work and I am still awake listing to the birds sing. Don't get me wrong it's beautiful to wake up in the morning and see the sunrise as the moon begins to slowly drift away. My problem is that I have seen two too many moons, two too many sunrises in two days. Sweet dreams.
